UNMAS and Partners Safely Defuse 20kg AirCraft Bomb in Juba City Suburb
A 20 kg explosive abandoned in an area between Mangateen and Hai referendum in Juba has been safely defused.
The bomb was disarmed yesterday evening by a team from the G4s landmine company and the UN Mine Action Service – UNMAS in collaboration with national security agents.
The exercise was conducted near Mangateen, some 1.8 kilometers northwest from Juba International Airport.
UNMAS Chief Operations Officer, Zehrudin Sukanovic told Miraya Breakfast show that the air-dropped weapon was deactivated and will be taken to a safe area where it will be destroyed.
