The wind blows cold on a Tuesday night
The wind blew cold on a Tuesday night I woke up in cold sweat, shivering with fright Papers cluttered, illegible words out of place I wished someone can tell me how to navigate this maze
I paced around and descended the stairs Looking for inspiration but it wasn’t there Can the lord or my brain bring me out of dismay Save me from the chill, out of harm’s way
I staggered home at half past two Heart was heavy and my mood rue Freedom is the ultimate dream But I pondered and the future seemed grim
I glanced helplessly at the menacing wall In my mind a phantom walked down the hall He wants to witness my ultimate fall Should I pick up a pen and end it all
A black dog came growling at my door I chased it away but there came more I wondered if my soul has gone astray If so please run and never look back
I rubbed my temples the pain was ceaseless Set out to find answers but returned just as clueless I sensed a funeral raging on inside So I got out of bed and discarded my pride
The wind blows cold on a Tuesday night I wake up in cold sweat, shivering with fright My mind is blank, thoughts vanishing without a trace I fall back into sleep to continue my chase
