Another direct rule budget as Stormont stalemate rumbles on - how long can this go on?

The Secretary of State says she's working on another Stormont budget which will be set in Westminster. But Karen Bradley says that restoring the institutions is her "top priority". It will be the third budget to be set since the Assembly collapsed. In that time - Assembly members have been paid £10 million in wages and other contributions since powersharing collapsed. That's money you have paid them. That's led to renewed calls for direct rule. Or should we continue to wait - and continue to pay - until the Assembly members get their act together?
