UN Children’s Agency – UNICEF has finalised a report on the rapid response areas in Upper Nile and Jonglei state.
The former states have been the most devastated as a result of the years of conflict and insecurity.
With a combined population of more than 3mln, populations are struggling with poor road infrastructure and lack of access to health and education services.
That exactly why the government of South Sudan appointed UNICEF to perform the role of lead agency for health from July 1, 2018 for a period of three months.
In close collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the objective was to provide coordination, management, monitoring and technical assistance to support the delivery of high impact primary health care services in the two former states.
UNICEF Chief Of Health Penelope Campbell spoke to Sebit William about the results being achieved in Upper Nile and Jonglei, two regions with some of the most significant health care challenges.
