Access Platform at Vault Festival

Feb 04, 2019, 03:05 PM

Writers who are blind, wheelchair users, D/deaf, or identify as disabled often miss out on the experience of getting their plays performed in many venues. Access Platform is looking to change that and have begun the process of selecting scripts from D/deaf, Blind and Disabled writers to put into production for this year’s Vault Festival in London. Amy Bethan Evans, Curator of Access Platform, joins Kris Wallace to discuss why initiatives like this are required, and why it’s important that these plays get representational casting.

If you wish to attend these shows at the Vault Festival, Access Platform will host 2 performances at Vaults in front of a paying audience and industry professionals on March 13th and 14th. They will endeavour to cast predominantly D/deaf and disabled actors and will certainly aim to cast them D/deaf and disabled roles.

You can find tickets through the Vault website.
