A shop in High Halden near Ashford has been damaged this morning by a 4x4, as part of an attempt to steal a cash machine.

Police were called at 4am - it's thought the vehicle reversed into the front of the shop and then strapping was used to try and pull out the ATM.

The 4x4 - thought to be a Cherokee Jeep - was later found on fire in Harbourne Lane.
