Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon council has come second in the entire UK for spending on awards ceremonies in the past three years, forking out £162,189. That's a lot of sausage rolls, warm wine and chocolate fancies!

The report comes from the Taxpayers Alliance, and puts the whole of Northern Ireland at a spend of over £593,000.

Is it good value for money or evidence of councils just being a little too good at spending other people's cash?
