After a long and contentious lead-up to the ceremony, the 91st Academy Awards took place on Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Green Book, a film many critics said played into a white savior narrative, won the Oscar for Best Picture. Bohemian Rhapsody, which also faced its own share of controversy, won four awards—the most of any film.

Alfonso Cuarón took home the Oscar for Best Director for his work on Roma, which scored 10 nominations in all.
