South Sudan forest cover under threat

As we observe the International Day of Forests, an environmentalist says more must be done to preserve the country’s forest cover for future generations. 

The Director for education in Magwi county, Onen Philip Awata says large chunks of forests across the country face the increasing threat of destruction for agriculture, industry, housing and economic gain. 

Awata says state and national governments should put police in place to protect forests.
