The World Health Organisation is raising alarm over Neglected Tropical Diseases, which according to the health agency are silent killers in South Sudan.
The WHO lists 20 neglected tropical diseases which affect the poorest, most vulnerable people who live in hard to reach parts of the country.
Evans Liyosi, a Technical Officer in the WHO says the agency is conducting a mapping exercise in collaboration with the national ministry of health, to determine the prevalence and magnitude of this disease to guide interventions and response.
He was joined by Dr. Richard Lino Laku, WHO Director-General for Policy, Planning, Budgeting, and Research to talk about the prevalence of the disease and interventions needed.
