Farmers are being advised to prepare their gardens for a normal rainy period, despite the hot temperatures.

The Undersecretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food security, John Ogoto Kanisio says a technical assessment carried out by the Greater Horn of Africa Climate Outlook Forum in February, forecasts normal rainfall between March and May 2019.

The forecast is however recommending water harvesting from the expected in the next two months.

Kanisio is asking farmers to follow their regular planting calendar and not be alarmed by the prevailing high temperatures and dry conditions.

He spoke to Sworo Charles Elisha.
