Ten priority locations identified for $11mln Emergency Fund allocation

The United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) announced an allocation of US$11 million to help 268,000 women, men and children who had been displaced by conflict within South Sudan to return to their homes.

A statement from the United Nations Humanitarian Office says the funding will ensure the returning populations have food, farming tools and seeds, shelter items and other basic necessities.

The Resident Humanitarian Coordinator and Deputy Special Representative to the Secretary General for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan UNMISS Allain Noudehou said the allocation will help women, men and children who had been displaced by conflict to return to their homes.
