SPLM-IO request delay in Upper Nile regional dialogue conference

The National Dialogue Regional Conference for the Upper Nile region has been postponed till next month, when the unity government is expected to be in place.

The opposition SPLM-IO requested the delay for when they are in the country and able to conduct grassroot consultations in areas under their control ahead of the conference.

In a related development, a team from the National Dialogue steering committee has travel to South Africa. 

The Deputy head of information and communications in the National Dialogue steering committee, Vincent Wanga says the team of 22 representatives from the government and opposition will spend one-week consulting and learning from South Africa’s past experiences.

Wanga spoke to Philip Wani in this interview.
