'Other course managers ask what it's like working with a female-only membership' - visiting Formby and Formby Ladies

Episode 11,   Apr 18, 2019, 03:19 PM

In 2019 the BIGGA National Championship sponsored by official golf partner Rigby Taylor will be hosted by both Formby and Formby Ladies.

The courses have a very unusual set up, with the links of Formby, where only men can be members, entirely encompassing the Formby Ladies course, where membership is restricted - as the name suggests - to only female golfers.

It's an unusual set up in today's world and yet, as Karl found out when he spoke to the course managers at both venues, it works, with members at both clubs benefitting from the arrangement.

Both genders are able to play on each course, which are situated along England's golf coast in close proximity to three Open Championship venues and others that have hosted major professional and amateur events.
