UNMISS-supported mobile courts aide in tackling back-log cases

A justice in the court of appeal says the introduction of mobile courts has helped deal with a backlog of cases and resulted in a fall in crime rates. 

Justice Kulang Jeroboam says the courts were introduced in nine states by the Ministry of Justice with support of the UNITED Nations Mission In South Sudan (UNMISS) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)

Justice Jeroboam says the mobile courts have strengthened the rule of law and respect of human rights.

Justice Kulang Jeroboam spoke to Robert Ohia in this interview and explored the effectiveness of the mobile court system.
