The Kingdom of the Netherlands says the parties to the South Sudan should focus on reaching durable solutions and not concentrate on dates and deadlines.
The Deputy Head of Mission in the Netherlands Embassy in South Sudan, Jeroen Kelderhuis says the party leaders must make compromises and reach lasting agreements to push the peace process forward.
Mr. Kelderhuis’ comments come as party leaders meet in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in the latest attempt to hammer out lasting agreements and map out a clear and definite way to accomplish the remaining tasks ahead of a May 12 deadline to the end of the pre-transitional period.
The Deputy Head of Mission sat down with Sani Martin to discuss the peace process and the Netherlands support humanitarian efforts, resilience programs and the rule of law.
