3rd May 2019 - Building clubs: Doswell at Havant & Waterlooville, Munroe at Basford United, Hare at North Ferriby United, Oakes at Welling Town and NLPs Richardson on Play off confusion

Season 3, Episode 40,   May 03, 2019, 04:00 AM

It's a full 90 minutes plus injury time in this week's bumper show with learnings, yearnings and plenty of intelligent non league insight.

First up with Tim Fuell and Dave Anderson Paul Doswell on leaving Sutton United and taking on the manager's job at Havant & Waterlooville, in a very frank and revealing interview.

Also returning to the show Chris Monroe, Chairman at Basford United, no promotion for them this season - 5 in 7 seasons perhaps enough for now - but a new big name manager in Steve Chettle and a whopping 4 year contract. Hear why the club have taken such a big step and continue to evolve at apace.

It's a few seasons since Les Hare was last on the show but after seeing his beloved North Ferriby United go to the wall earlier this season, he has been quick to react and help launch a phoenix club that will take on the name and participate at Step 5 next season. After making the National League and lifting the FA Trophy last time he was in charge, this time it is all about the enjoyment of being back in the football community.

Hoping to emulate those who come before him Kevin Oakes has seen his Sunday side for a few friends develop quickly in recent seasons to rise through the pyramid and this season win the Southern Counties East Division One in a dramatic last weekend ready to take their place in step 5 next term. Can Welling United be the next Basford United?

Online Editor at The Non League Paper David Richardson is perhaps the busiest man in non league this week. With play-offs taking place and not taking place he has been keeping us all up to date with developments up and down the country and offers a round up of what has and hasn't happened and what may be yet to come.
