Civil Society welcomes extension of Pre-Transitional period

The Civil Society has welcomed the extension of the Pre-Transitional period, saying it gives time for the parties to accomplish outstanding tasks.

The six-month extension was resolved on Friday during a meeting of party leaders convened by IGAD in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia.

Rajab Mohandis, Executive Director for Organization for Responsive Governance says the parties time to complete critical tasks including the reunification of forces, resolving disagreements on state boundaries and the dissemination of the peace agreement.
