EU: Regionalism and multilateralism, key to South Sudan’s growth

The European Union is encouraging South Sudan to strengthen regional partnerships and maximize benefits from multi-national collaborations.
The EU today celebrates Europe Day in recognition of peace and prosperity within Europe.
EU Ambassador to South Sudan, Sinead Walsh says membership in organizations such as the East Africa Corporation would help South Sudan build networks and maximize its economic and social potential.
The European Union spends a combined total of 260 mln euros on rural development, education and health projects in South Sudan, and the Ambassador says the six-member EU delegation in the country is also sharing its experiences as a bloc to support South Sudan’s regional partnerships.
Ambassador Walsh, Swedish Ambassador Fredrik Schiler and French Ambassador Jean-Yves Roux sat down for an interview with Irene Lasu to talk about the significance of South-Sudan – Europe collaborations.
