A new George Best statue in Belfast. Is the tribute warranted given the football star’s chequered history?

Yesterday would have been George Best's 73rd birthday and to mark the occasion many of his family, friends and fans gathered in Belfast for the unveiling of a commemorative statue. The life size bronze figure has already been attracting a lot of attention. Some people aren't convinced the statue looks exactly like George.
But the bigger debate is - should there be a statue at all for someone who was one of the world's best footballers but was also violent towards some women in his life.
