A former Maidstone schoolboy has been speaking candidly about living in fear of his father as a child.

Up to around the age of 10, Mark Mills was regularly attacked, before the NSPCC intervened and told his dad to leave the home.

The charity continued to check up on Mark and his siblings, including taking them away on trips for respite.

Now 54 and living in Bearsted, Mark's gone on to become a private pilot and won £32,000 pounds on Who Wants to be a Millionaire in 1999.

Last month Mark raised more than 3-thousand pounds for the NSPCC doing the London Marathon.
