Police seize 300 illegal weapons in house-to-house search operation

Police have recovered more than 300 rifles in an ongoing weapons search operation in Juba. 

Police spokesperson Maj. General Daniel Justin says unwanted substances such as marijuana were also seized.

He says the rifles, inscribed with labels of the various security sectors have been returned to the respective institutions and cases have been opened against civilians found in possession of the illegal firearms

In other security-related news, a woman was stabbed to death by her husband in Gumbo residential area on Sunday.  

Police spokesperson Daniel Justin says one suspect has been arrested as investigations continue.
