A dog is put down in Newry after a suspected acid attack.

Police are investigating a suspected acid attack on a dog in Newry yesterday evening. The bull terrier was put down by a vet after suffering serious injuries. It was found by a woman in the Pound Road area of the city. A PSNI spokesman told the Nolan Show that tests are being carried out and the incident is being treated as a deliberate attack on the dog.
