This is the sound of wallpaper being wound into a tight roll, ready to receive a second layer of ink. A large spool turns, and the paper is fed off its drying rack via a sort of wooden ladder, onto a steadily turning axle. This sound was recorded with a contact microphone at Cole & Sons Wallpaper factory.
