Episode 32 - Food and Weight Issues with Lisa Schlosberg, LMSW

Season 1, Episode 32,   Jun 07, 2019, 07:00 AM

As I always say, chronic pain is not just about pain. It is about every way in which we relate to our bodies. So many of us don't know how to feel our feelings properly, and one of the ways we cope is to "eat" them. Lisa Schlosberg knows this story well. After a childhood of morbid obesity, losing 150 pounds in college taught her about the importance of mental and emotional health. After realizing both over-eating and under-eating had been means of coping with unexpressed emotion, she grew passionate about helping others bridge the gap between mental and physical health.

When we met at last summer, I was instantly taken by the poise and intelligence of this young woman. When she discovered my work, she realized that her years of painful IBS now had a solution as well. Today on the Pod we talk about it all, and how Lisa will be bringing all of her amazing knowledge to OMEGA this summer. I am so excited!

As a Certified Personal Trainer, Integrative Nutrition Holistic Health Coach, Licensed Master of Social Work, and Public Speaker, Lisa now conducts both in-person and online coaching sessions, providing guidance as her clients connect the mental/emotional, physical, spiritual, and social dots of their own lives. Her mission is to help men and women struggling with their relationship to food, eating, and their body become aligned with, attuned to, understanding of, and loving toward themselves throughout the lifelong process of growth, transformation, and evolution.
