No period of grace if your MOT runs out in the coming weeks - that's the warning from civil servants despite the current massive backlog for appointments.

The Belfast Telegraph is reporting that there will be no grace period for MOT delays despite the current testing backlog. That means anyone driving their vehicle without a valid certificate will be breaking the law, even if they cannot get a date before their MoT lapses. SDLP MLA Mark H Durkan had written to the Department for Infrastructure to request the the grace period - he spoke to Stephen this morning.
