Security sector reform ‘key’ to building public trust and confidence: Norwegian Ambassasor

Norway’s Ambassador to South Sudan is encouraging the parties to prioritize the building a sound national army as they work towards creating a unity government. 
 
Ambassador Lars Andersen says security sector reform is a key step in gaining public trust and confidence in the revitalized peace agreement. 
 
In an exclusive interview with Radio Miraya, Ambassador Lars complimented the parties for the progress made thus far, but said more effort needs to be exerted to push the process forward. 
 
Ambassador Lars also warned of the dangers of perpetual aid hand-out, caution that such short-term solutions could destroy local markets.  
 
The Ambassador spoke to Radio Miraya’s David Lukan in this exclusive interview.
