Thousands of tyres have been removed from East Belfast bonfires this week in the run up to the Eleventh Night celebrations. Contractors acting on behalf of Belfast City Council removed 1800 tyres from a site in Lismore Street last Sunday. Then bonfire builders in East voluntarily took tyres off sites at Connswater and Avoniel. It's illegal to dump or burn tyres - under the law, retailers are supposed to store them securely and engage a registered waste company to dispose of them properly. The body responsible for enforcing the law is the Northern Ireland Environment Agency. Vinny spoke to PUP Cllr Billy Hutchinson and Green Party Cllr Rachel Woods.
