Journalists Union calls for release of detained South Sudanese journalists

The Union of Journalists of South Sudan (UJOSS) is adding its voice to the many calls for the release of two journalists who were arrested in Juba and Yirol. 
 
Michael Christopher, Editor-in-Chief of the Al-Watan Arabic daily newspaper and John Agok Wel were apprehended on separate occasions. 
 
Agok, a former journalist with a community radio in Yirol was apparently working as a free-lancer when he was detained while covering the arrival of the governor of Eastern Lakes state in Yirol on 10th July, while Michael Christopher was reportedly ordered off a Nairobi bound flight at Juba international airport on 17th July.
