The Spotlight with United Nations Volunteer Sophie Lafrance, Quality Assurance, Environment and Safety Officer from Canada

 Sophie Lafrance is one of the over 500 volunteers serving with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan. She hails from Canada.

Sophie works as a Quality Assurance, Environment and Safety Officer with the #UNMISS transport section.

She began her volunteering journey back home when she quit her job to take up the work of a volunteer at the community level.

Two years later, she became a volunteer with the UN Mission in South Sudan in early 2019 and just few months down the road, she tells the story of an experience that has added so much value to her life. 

“Being a volunteer is having an open mind”. 

“My model has been patient and persistent”.

Her Hobbies are making hardcover writing journals from scratch and traveling.
