"Working Women Series" from St. Pete Catalyst with Jessica Rivelli and Kristi Campbell, Franchise Owner- Home Instead Senior Care Tampa
Say hello to Working Women Stories. In this fourth episode of our series, host Jessica Rivelli, the founder of Working Women of Tampa Bay, talks with Kristi Campbell, franchise owner of Home Instead Senior Care Tampa in Brandon. Campbell is a Decade of Dynamic Women honoree this year, an honor bestowed by Working Women at their annual Working Women Conference.
Campbell has been a franchise owner since 2003, growing her business from five employees to 130 in 2019. Over her 16 years in business she’s assisted hundreds (if not thousands) of seniors; she’s also created a nonprofit to help seniors outside of her work.
Home Instead Senior Care seeks to assist senior citizens with independence – whatever level of independence that might be, wherever seniors call home.
In this long-form conversation, Campbell gives advice for those considering a franchise opportunity, explains the importance of education and research, and how legal matters can affect your business. She dishes on what she wishes she knew 10-15 years ago, and her best advice for business owners – owning your humanity, and doing the right thing.
Rivelli and Campbell discuss misconceptions around home care, Medicare, and planning for retirement. Campbell shares the estimated costs of daily care, and explains why planning for assisted care needs is so important.
