Episode 78 - Bills rebound to beat Jets 17-16

Episode 18,   Sep 09, 2019, 04:30 PM

A win is a win. That is what a lot of Bills fans and perhaps team members are feeling this morning after the Buffalo Bills defeated the New York Jets 17-16 at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. The Bills overcame sloppy play, bad penalties, costly turnovers, amongst other issues to get the ever important divisional win.

If the game ended at half time, many people would be left with little optimism. The Bills offered a very one-dimensional offense, primarily passing, which led to two interceptions that bounced off the hands of Cole Beasley and Zay Jones.

Down 16 points in the middle of the third quarter, with a goose egg in their score tally, Buffalo mounted its biggest comeback since 2011, starting with a Stephen Hauschka Field Goal, then, finally unleashing rookie Devin Singletary to help the Bills move 170 yards on two drives and deliver two touchdowns. One from Josh Allen on the run, and another, a deep ball from Allen to John Brown, who led the receivers on both teams on Sunday.

With this win, the Bills are tied with the Patriots for first place in the AFC East and are set to return to the same venue for a Week 2 game against the New York Giants.
