The South Sudan Meteorological department is predicting continued and heavy rainfall up till mid-November.

Rainfall patterns are expected to be above normal in central, eastern and southern parts of the country.

“In our forecast update for October, the first 10 days indicated that we will receive enhanced rainfall in those areas except eastern part of South Sudan Kapoeta area, said Badredin Fartak, a forecaster in the department of Meteorology.

Fartak is encouraging farmers to take advantage of the season.

The weather department cautions that the high rainfall will come along with heavy thunderstorms and high-speed winds that could wreak havoc and pose a danger to the public.

Fartak spoke to Radio Miraya in this interview.
