Controversial plans to spend more than 100 million pounds building a new theatre, council offices and car park in #TunbridgeWells have been scrapped. There was applause from the public gallery at last night's meeting as councillors voted against the idea. Protesters had already said it would cost too much and impact on the nearby Calverley Gardens and homes. But council leader Alan McDermott says it's a shame.
