Times Square reimagined by Andy Lyon.

"The three words are ///retain.vibes.proven. I used these to create a set of 'found instructions' as follows -

Retain as much of the original recording as possible and retain its essence; Use proven techniques to enhance and create different vibes.

I used RapidComposer to produce chord progressions and melodies and used Spitfire Audio libraries to play these. I processed the recording with the grain micro loop sampler in Hollyhock 3 DAW and a number of effects (Frostbite, MangledVerb, SpecOps, H949 Dual Harmoniser). I also processed the recording in Palindrome with Blackhole and H3000 Band Delays to create 2 background layers.

I've layered all of these these through the song using a variety of effects (SP2016 Reverb, Blackhole, H3000 Band Delays, H3000 Factory, Reels).

The finished recording embraces the essence of the original recording whilst considering how the feel of a location can change both with time and as you walk through it. "
