Sudan inks peace deal with Revolutionary Front rebels

The Sudan Sovereign Council and the Sudanese Revolutionary Front on Monday signed a Political Agreement in Juba. 
 
The deal includes cessation of hostilities and opening humanitarian corridors in the war-affected areas in Sudan. 
 
South Sudan has started mediating peace talks between the government of Sudan and its opposition parties and groups in an attempt to resolve the problems of Darfur, the Nuba Mountains, and the Blue Nile. 
 
President of South Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit congratulated the Sudanese for reaching a deal on cessation of hostilities. 
 
Speaking at the same occasion the head of the Sudan Sovereign Council to the peace talks in Juba Gen Mohammad Hamdan Dagalo welcomed the political agreement with the Sudan Revolutionary Front and promised to realize peace for the people of Sudan. 
 
Dr Alhadi Yahaya Idris, the leader of the Sudan Revolutionary Front says the political agreement will pave the way for a permanent peace in Sudan and realizes the African Union vision to silence guns in the continent by 2020.
