Healing From Trauma And Finding Joy With Nurjahan Boulden

Season 2, Episode 43,   Nov 13, 2019, 11:22 PM

Nurjahan Boulden is a married mom of 3 children, educator, public speaker, community builder, and a survivor of gun violence. She was shot in the leg by a random shooter while dancing in a club on vacation. This experience fundamentally altered who she was and how she moved in the world. She thought if she just avoided certain situations she could keep herself safe. However, she realized she was living a very small and unhappy life and the trauma she suppressed from the gun violence began to show up in her parenting as fear and anxiety. Nurjahan shares her journey of learning to work through her fears and live with joy again.
