Alan Taylor and Bracknell Town

Episode 10,   Nov 22, 2019, 05:00 AM

Former Bracknell Town and Farnborough Town manager Alan Taylor is in the hot seat for the final episode of Berkshire Football Stories series one.

Episode Ten of Berkshire Football Stories looks back to the 2000s at Bracknell Town with long-serving former manager Alan Taylor.

The early 2000s were a period of great promise for the Robins who had just reached the First Round of the FA Cup for the first time and were chasing promotion up the Isthmian League.

Hosts Tom Canning and Rob Davies speak to Alan Taylor who took over the reigns from Clive and Mark Tallentire in 2001, taking the Robins on another FA Cup run and to a Berks & Bucks County Cup Final.

Al discusses how he ended up getting the Bracknell job, the players he worked with and working within a tight budget.

We also chat about Alan's assistants at Larges Lane and his habit of getting them out of retirement as well as his time managing Farnborough and why he decided to step aside.

That is it for series one of Berkshire Football Stories. We'll be back in 2020! If you'd like to suggest a guest or a story you'd like covered, please email editor@footballinbracknell.co.uk
