UNOCHA today launches a joint appeal for $1.5 billion Humanitarian fund

The humanitarian community in South Sudan will today launch a joint appeal for 1.5 billion US dollars to provide urgent and life-saving assistance to 5.6 million people affected by conflict, hunger and displacement in 2020. The response plan is a combined strategy of national and international NGO activities in the next year. Steve O’Malley, Head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs – UNOCHA outlines some of the priorities.
