‘If the Government don’t honour their commitments, then devolution won’t work’ – DUP’s Sir Jeffrey Donaldson reacts to Stormont draft deal

The British and Irish governments have published the text of a draft deal aimed at restoring power sharing in Northern Ireland. Secretary of State Julian Smith and Tánaiste Simon Coveney made the announcement at a press conference at Stormont last night. The deal, entitled New Decade, New Approach came three years to the day since devolution collapsed.

But the speaker has said that the Assembly will only be recalled if the political parties agree on a potential deal to restore power sharing
