The Green Room Podcast LIVE with Curtis Tyrrell CGCS MG

Episode 27,   Jan 20, 2020, 05:05 PM

Hello and welcome to this week’s edition of the Green Room golf course Podcast, I’m your host, Karl Hansell.

I’m delighted to say that I’m coming to you today from the spectacular Harrogate Convention Centre, where BTME 2020 is due to get underway tomorrow morning.

Continue to Learn has been taking place for a couple of days now and things are going really well. There’s been loads happening and yet the show hasn’t even started yet.

There’s so much going on that it’s going to be an absolutely spectacular show.

One of the highlights this year will be the Green Room Podcast Live, where former Ryder Cup superintendent Curtis Tyrrell will host a series of conversations with some of the biggest names in golf greenkeeping.

Curtis is himself a famous name in the industry having been the course superintendent for the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah. He’s now director of agronomy at Desert Highlands in Arizona and is the host of the Course Reports podcast. If you’re coming to BTME, make sure you head to the Green Room Podcast Live stage in the Blue Zone to hear Curtis talking to his guests, who will include Solheim Cup course manager Craig Haldane and Graeme Beatt, who oversaw the hosting of The Open at Royal Portrush last year. There are two days of talks talking place, so make sure you check it out.

Today I was able to sit down with Curtis to find out a little bit more about him. I hope you enjoy our conversation….
