China's Uighurs - Reaching the 'silent majority'

The Chinese region of Xinjiang is home to millions of ethnic Muslim Uighurs, who have lived there for decades. Rights groups say hundreds of thousands have been detained in camps without trial, but China argues they voluntarily attend the centres, which were set up to combat "extremism". Melisa Idris and Sharaad Kuttan speak to Dr Roy Anthony Rogers, Department of International and Strategic Studies at Universiti Malaya, about the disputed narratives in China’s treatment of the Uighurs.
