A 2019 UN refugee agency UNHCR report has found that the number of suicides and suicide attempts among South Sudanese refugees living in settlements in Uganda has more than doubled.
There were 97 suicide attempts, with 19 deaths.
More than 2 million South Sudanese, most of them women and children, have fled their homeland to escape the conflict between the government and opposition parties.
Many South Sudanese have witnessed or experienced attacks, sexual abuse and torture either at home or during their escape says the report.
