Plans to build a controversial new railway station in #Kent have taken a step forward. The county council's decided to spend almost £18m on the #Thanet Parkway project. You'd be able to get between the station in Cliffsend near Manston and London in around an hour. KCC say it'll improve connectivity and support economic development in the area - but some residents have described it as a waste of money. Councillor Paul Messenger who represents #Ramsgate is disappointed with the council's decision.
