Sermon on the Mount: Blessed Are...The Meek vs. The Agenda-Driven - Phil McKinney II (16 February 2020)

Meekness is not something that is taught today. In fact, to be meek is to be weak. Yet, Jesus shares with His disciples that if they want to live the Kingdom Life, they must be meek. The meek rely completely on God and wait on Him. In fact, the wait patiently for the Lord instead of fretting over and scheming to right their own wrongs. They are not agenda-driven unless it is the Lord’s agenda. Throwing around their weight and getting their own way is not as important as seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This is part of the “New Norm” that Jesus teaches. This morning we will learn what it means to be meek and why only those who exhibit meekness will inherit the new earth.
