The United Nations Humanitarian Agency UNOCHA says South Sudan is more than ready to combat the desert locusts that are reportedly swarming some parts of the country.
UN OCHA Head of Office Steve O’Malley says high level attention on the locusts already exists, since the time they were identified as a potential risk. O’Malley says the food and agriculture organisation has been working closely with the ministry of agriculture and constantly briefing the president.
