The International Organization for Migration launches a Consolidated Appeal for 2020.

The International Organization for Migration – the IOM, has launched a Consolidated Appeal for more than 100mln US dollars to Support Humanitarian and Development Responses in South Sudan in 2020.  

The funding will meet the needs of internally displaced persons, returnees, host community members and migrants throughout the country. 

Areas of support include water and sanitation, hygiene and healtht, transition and recovery projects and income generating schemes. IOM Program Support Unit Coordinator, Harry Smith, says the appeal recognizes the significant needs that persist across the country as highlighted in the 2020 Humanitarian Needs Overview.
For her part, Sukhwant Kaur, Core Pipeline Programme Manager says IOM intends to provide the population with lifesaving assistance.
