The United Nations Humanitarian Air Services – UNHAS, is set to unveil a new airport terminal and renovated section of Rumbek airport in Lakes state. The new facility will make access to the Lakes region much easier and enable the World Food Program and other aid partners reach communities with much needed assistance. The terminal was constructed by the UN Humanitarian Air Service at a cost of 120-thousand US dollars and will be handed over to the state government in a ceremony on Wednesday. World Food Program Communications Officer Tomson Phiri says the terminal will facilitate air travel in an area plagued with poor road network.
