President Salva Kiir has issued a republican order imposing a nationwide-wide night curfew as part of preventive measures to guard against coronavirus -COVID-19
The order announced on the state-owned broadcaster SSBC came into effect at midnight and directs for the suspension of all movement from 8’oclock in the evening to 6 o’clock in the morning.

Speaking to Radio Miraya, presidential press secretary, Ateny Wek Ateny said the order gives special consideration to medical facilities to remain open in case of emergencies.
