Night terrors

London lockdown sounds recorded by Marg Laing.

"This recording was made after midnight on Day 1 of Lockdown in London.

|We have a lot of urban foxes in Hackney, and as it's spring, they tend to be more vocal. But in over 20 years of living in London I have never heard a sound like this. Persistent screams.

|People seem to be externally mourning the loss of conveniences while quietly fearing what is to come here and globally. The community is weaving together to support each other, it is encouraging to see.

"And how the soundscape has changed! I hear birds and no more the drone of buses and sirens. A chance to pause and reflect."
